Studies in East Africa suggest that a person can carry up to 20% of their body weight on their head without expending extra energy. In Care to Carry he extended his research on weight by carrying stones in different ways across the urban landscape. By balancing a stone on his head and intentionally destabilising himself, he discovered a new approach to practising mindfulness and balance amongst the chaos of the city. Now, it’s your turn! This 3.5-hour experience begins with an indoor workshop and then moves outdoors into the city centre, one of the most challenging environments for mindfulness. We’ll journey through the streets as a cohesive collective – like a flock of birds or a school of fish. Experience how the overwhelming stimuli of urban life can become an opportunity for sensory exploration, fostering a shared experience by carrying stones for one another. Take on this challenge, and let the ‘concrete jungle’ reveal itself in the most unexpected ways.
